The WHO states that “the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health is one of the fundamental rights of every human being.” The Faculty of Addictions promotes this right for those with an addiction problem. The Faculty does so by encouraging best practice amongst its members, advocating for effective treatment and extending the evidence base.
Aims
- To support Psychiatrists who specialise in addiction treatment
- To promote and develop postgraduate training
- To support evidence-based policy making
- To facilitate research in the field of addiction psychiatry
- To act at a reservoir of expert opinion

Meetings take place online via zoom video conferencing.
College Faculty/SIG and committee meetings can garner 1 internal or external CPD credit per meeting up to a maximum of 10 credits per PCS year.
