The Faculty of Adult Psychiatry welcomes all psychiatrists specialising in General Adult Psychiatry and its related sub-specialties. Our mission is to promote the development and sustenance of evidence-based practice, and to provide professional support by fostering peer networks and facilitating information sharing. Through these measures, we hope to drive the ethos of professional excellence towards the delivery of the highest standards of care to our patients.
Aims
- To improve the standard of care given to those who look to us for help
- To enhance the specialty of general adult psychiatry
- To provide training opportunities in general adult psychiatry regionally and nationally
- To advocate for improvements in the quality of general adult psychiatry
- To facilitate communication with all general adult psychiatrists, both in Ireland and overseas who hold membership with the College
- To represent the role of the general adult psychiatrist
- To encourage non-consultant doctor involvement
- To support our members in their practice
- To facilitate communication with other College Faculties & medical specialties
- To encourage participation of all general adult psychiatrists in faculty business
Dates of upcoming meetings in 2022
- Friday, 9th December @2pm
Meetings take place online via zoom video conferencing.
College Faculty/SIG and committee meetings can garner 1 internal or external CPD credit per meeting up to a maximum of 10 credits per PCS year.
